Organized by Ardelean Tours, the popular Padis Snowmobile Tour will take place again from February 6–9, 2025. This exciting guided tour allows you to explore the wonders of winter nature. The Apuseni Mountains are a defining massif in western Romania, featuring the Padis Karst Plateau at its heart, just 100 km from the Hungarian-Romanian border. The Padis Karst Plateau in the Bihor Mountains is one of the most unique karst regions in Transylvania and Romania, with every type of karst phenomenon represented here. During the tours, we’ll traverse the enchanting landscapes of the Padis Plateau, where snow-covered forests, icy cliffs, and crystal-clear streams create a magical atmosphere. The snowmobile rides offer a unique experience, bringing true winter magic to every participant. Thanks to this activity, you’ll explore the snow-covered terrain not only on foot but also by snowmobile, bringing you even closer to nature. As with last year’s snowmobile tour, comfortable accommodations, delicious meals, and friendly, experienced guides will ensure a complete experience. Detailed Itinerary: Budapest Recommended departure from Budapest (by car): 7:30 AM Route: Budapest – Oradea (Ártánd border crossing) – Padis. (February 6) Arrival and check-in: “5 Házikó” Guesthouse (https://padis-glavoi.ro/en/) Lunch Afternoon: Free time, relaxation, preparation for the next day’s tour Dinner Daily Program (February 7–8): 9:00–11:30 AM: Snowmobile tours 12:00–1:00 PM: Lunch (Traditional cuisine, homemade brandy, etc.) 1:30–3:00 PM: Snowmobile tours Free time until dinner: Sledding, sauna, hot tub, bacon roasting, mountain hiking, snowshoeing, etc. 7:00 PM: Dinner Return (February 9): After breakfast, departure back to Budapest Arrival in Budapest in the afternoon Accommodation and Participation Fee: 55 €/person/night (165 € total) or payable in HUF based on the daily MNB exchange rate. The participation fee includes: Full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner) Unlimited use of sauna and hot tub Guided snowmobile tours Snowmobile Rental: 150 €/snowmobile/session (7 snowmobiles available per tour) Includes a 2–2.5-hour guided snowmobile tour, fuel, protective gear, and helmet rental. Pre-booking is required. Rental fees are payable on-site to the local organizers. The fee does not include: Travel insurance (available online through our office upon request). Note: Insurance must cover extreme sports if arranged individually. What to Bring: Warm clothing, base layers (e.g., ski suit, overalls) Winter boots, warm gloves, extra clothes Optional: Protective gear (spine and knee protectors) Payment Details: A deposit of 50% of the participation fee is required upon booking. The remaining balance must be paid at least 10 days before the scheduled program. Cancellation 14 days before the event results in a 50% cancellation fee. Cancellation within 8 days of the event incurs a 100% cancellation fee. In the event of force majeure or insufficient snow conditions, the organizers may cancel the program. In such cases, a new date will be offered, or the paid fees will be refunded to the participants.
